About Pono Window Cleaning
In the Hawaiian language “Pono” means, “to do what is right”. Our name serves as a constant reminder to work hard, to follow through with our commitments, to do what’s right even when no one is looking, and to treat our team, our customers, our community and our planet with respect and kindness.
Pono Window Cleaning was started by Ben Hunt in January of 2017. Ben moved to Maui in 2010 after having grown up in the mid-west. Ben often tells people that the mid-west is a great place to be “from”. He had visited Maui many times thanks to a brother who had the presence of mind to get out of the cold and move here after falling in love with a girl from the island. After graduating from college Ben decided to enjoy a change in scenery and see if island life was for him. He also has often said that he didn’t really understand what it meant to love where you live until he moved here.
Ben and his wife Betty have been active members of Maui’s community. They attend Waipuna Chapel in Kula and also started the Waipuna Kids Clothing exchange, a place where members of the community can exchange the children’s clothes they have for the children’s clothes they need. It is a free event open to anybody and has helped over 100 Maui families clothe their kids for free.
